Hugo Costa represented WCS and the COMBO+ team at the European Business & Nature Summit held on 23–24 October in Helsinki.
Hugo was one of the speakers in the session “Collaboration for Nature: How multi-stakeholder partnerships can drive real impact for biodiversity at the landscape scale”, organized by Fauna & Flora. The session followed a dynamic format, with four panellists delivering short presentations before a participatory workshop where attendees discussed and responded to four key questions.
Drawing on nearly a decade of COMBO+ implementation experience, Hugo presented insights on building effective landscape-level partnerships that can deliver Nature Positive outcomes, and also facilitated one of the workshop’s working groups.
The session drew a full house and was honoured by the presence of the esteemed Professor Humberto Rosa, creator of the first Business & Biodiversity initiative back in 2007, who is now retiring after ten years of outstanding service as Director for Biodiversity at the European Commission.
